My Improvisational Quilting class is happening again this spring at Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven.   I love teaching this class -- there is always a great creative energy as we explore new ways of working with color and fabric, of working quickly, of tapping into our intuitive sense of design and balance...   We will meet Monday evenings -- visit creativeartsworkshop.org to learn more and to register.   I will also be offering two one-day workshops this spring, an introduction to handquilting and another to using natural dyes.   I look forward to seeing returning students and welcoming new ones!

I'm excited to lead this workshop at Common Ground in May.  Spring is just around the corner...

Working with Natural Dyes

Saturday, May 21st, 1-3 pm

Common Ground, New Haven, CT

Come explore a world of color harvested from roots, bark, leaves and flowers!  In this hands-on workshop, learn how to extract dyes from plants and how to prepare wool, cotton and silk for dyeing.  Each participant will leave with mini-skeins of yarn and silk or cotton fabric that they have dyed themselves.  An RSVP is required and there is a sliding-scale registration fee of $15-35; follow the link below to register.

The Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters is here!  My quilt, Sidestep, was made as a test quilt for Sherri Lynn Wood's "Rhythmic Grid" score and is featured on page 69!
